The Original MacBook 2010 has 8 GM of RAM, but, The installed 4 GB of installed RAM in this one handles the recording with no problem. I ordered it because it has the same hardware that allows the versatility of swapping the head phone jack from output to input in System Preferences allowing me to record directly into Audacity (a recording software) from the church sound amplifier.
